Shut Your Mouth

Gossip has been on my heart lately because it is so easy to fall into the trap of "catching up with the Jones's

So many people want to know other people's business or put their two cents in because "they are looking out for you" or "they believe they have the right to do so"

NO. IT'S WRONG.

Let's look at the definition:

gos·sip  

/ˈgäsip/

Noun Casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true.

     Not confirmed facts.... hmmm so lets see what the Bible says:

 Proverbs 16:28

A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.

 Proverbs 20:19

A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.

Gossip is equated with tension and a pot stirrer... People... we have to learn to SHUT OUR MOUTHS

James 1:19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 

That verse is saying hold you mouth.. before you go off and gossip you should reflect on what you are going to say and think: Is this going to uplift someone or tear them down?! Am I doing this to seem better than someone else-- because essentially you are worse... you are saying things that don't have concrete truth to it.

Also we need to learn to WALK AWAY -- 

That can sometimes be the hardest thing because you are not saying anything but you are engaging. Working in an office it is hard, being at school it is hard, being at HOME it can become hard. It is all about how we are training ourselves to be better people. 

Gossip only brings hurt to people, and embarrassment to people who gossip and get caught. Gossipers cna usually be the scapegoat as a liar as well. Don't be one of those people! God has created us all to do good and not evil. 

Those of us who are naturally social and like to talk learn DISCRETION especially when we are upset with people because then it is even easier.

Those of you who have a tendency to critique and like right and wrong don't talk about other people's faults extend to them grace and maybe a helping hand. 

Those of you who like to observe-- walk away... 

Gossip is a HUGE subject... I am sure I will have a part two...

Lord,

Thank you for being YOU. You are perfect in every way! Thank you for giving us the grace to make mistakes and learn from it. Help us keep our mouth shut and let you deal with everyone! Help us extend grace to others... help us to see people through your eyes and not our own. Help us have the courage to walk away and help us have the strength to make wrongs right. Thank you for this life and I pray we continue to grow in you and you continue to put people in our paths that will lead us more to you!

In every season

 

Being content is an art to life. We must be able to conquer our anxieties and be intentional about not giving into our fears that our hopes will fail!!

Lately I have been mroe aware of myself that I am more content in my life than I have ever been.

I am single in a world where most of my friends are in a serious relationship or getting married. This season alone I am going to 6 weddings!  

Most girls would be very annoyed, bitter, sad, etc having to put 1 on the R.S.V.P but I just have to thank God that I was able to be happy for others and not throw a pity party!

Being 24 with a degree and being on her own the logical next thing to do is to find a man, settle down and make babies........... right..... 

I am so glad I don't serve a God who is all about logic but rather about divinity and timing :) I have learned that the secret in being content is putting our TRUST  in our Lord.

Being content doesn't mean I don't have a desire but it means.... God I know that you know what is best for me when it comes to finding a mate, finding a better job, finding the right place to live, having the answer, knowing my future... It means giving all my fears to God and having confidence that He will keep hold to what He has promised me.

Honestly, when I take my own advice everything works out not just how I planned but even better and it was so worth putting it in His hands :)

TRUE contentment is not complaining behind closed doors, not DOUBTING that God doesn't know what He is doing and also not focusing on the issue.

Hope is a part of contentment because hope is the confidence that we put in God and we all know hope deferred makes a heart sick..... that is why we have to continually put our hearts in the word and not just our nose

Having a content life is ideal because we lack nothing since our dependance is on our Lord and Savior who rose in 3 days and allowed us to carry that power within us :) 

Peeps, be anxious for nothing because it adds stress to our lives which will shorten our life-- don't worry about things that can't be changed without the supernatural 

Lord Jesus 

Thank you so much for your love and your life that you so quickly gave up for me and my friends! Thank you for giving us grace when we do worry and focus on the material things or the "next step" that the world says we should do. Let us submit our hearts to you so we can put our hope and confidence in YOU. Let us look forward in you and let us know that provision is already set in stone. I just thank you for giving us our hearts desire in your timing. Help us be more content in life and if there are any sick hearts I pray that you encourage them to give them some hope again! I know we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us so I am speaking that we all can live a REAL content life not a fake one! It is all about our heart and let our hearts know your living word!!

the golden ticket

Remember Willy Wonka and the Golden Ticket?

 

I think it is crazy how sometimes we can treat our faith like a golden ticket...

We can be so wrapped up in ourselves and that we are doing "good" and making sure that we are "covered" that we live in way of I don't do this and I don't do that and I can't go there and blah blah blah blah BLAH

That's called being SELFISH AND ITS NOT CUTE

My heart is a little bit heavy because my friend is hopeless right now, she just lost the only person she could view as a father to a sudden death... SUDDEN

This may seem like two different topics but when I think of how she feels hopeless and questioning her journey this far I think of how many Christians are worried about themselves and making sure they get the golden ticket to go to heaven. Our journey is NOT about getting into heaven but rather being his hands and feet his mouth and heart while we are here on earth. 

We have to decide that our lives are merely nothing NOTHING in comparison to what Jesus has mandated us to be. The word says 

“Take up your cross and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23)"

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph 5:1-2

 We are to IMITATE Jesus, FOLLOW him.... Jesus fasted and prayed for OTHERS... He went to the dark alleys to help the hopeless, he went and became friends with people who were outcasted..

We have to get our own heads  and plans out of our butts and seek Jesus and what he has for us to do. EVERYONE HAS A PURPOSE TO BUILD THE KINGDOM UP....ask God what it is and He will show you.  

 I am so passionate about this because even though we may not live a wild life, we flee from sexual immorality even though we don't gossip even though we go to church on Sunday's even though we are being straigh line Christians..... so what.... be RADICAL ask God what is it that you can do to be radical in your life so that you can pick up your cross and follow Him. We are called to make disciples not just get a golden ticket... 

Let God consume you because it is truly then that you will not care about the do's and dont's but rather are you reaching God's people.... are you touching the hopeless, helpless, hurt, abandoned, mislead, decieved children that the Devil has major play with?! There is so much more  SO MUCH MORE to what being a Christian is... forget the label of Christian... be a disciple.. be radical... 

last verse 

 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12

We are to do more... Because we are one body moving in one spirit operating in 9 gifts of the spirit showing the fruit of the spirit... Stand up and do it... Forget about the dumb ticket... be a disciple and be freakin radical... don't be scared to bend some rules or push the limits... to have a revolution we need some rebels with a cause titled disciples
